I tried the chocolate and almond croissants, and I was blown away by how flaky and light the chocolate croissant was. I decided to stock up on croissants, and I was delighted to find a basket at the front where I could select my preferred choices. They have a wide variety of baked goods, including croissants, cookies, bread, cakes, fruit tarts, and many more. The prices were reasonable, especially for a downtown bakery. However, we only stopped for the baked goods, and I must say, it was worth it. The interior design is stunning, and the bakery and restaurant inside look fantastic. I stumbled upon this adorable bakery in downtown Dallas, all thanks to my sister who took me there while we were out shopping. Everyone has an off day, and we seemed to have gotten that day here. We so wanted to have this as our new brunch spot, but we expect more from a place that is as highly rated as this is. This whole experience took over an hour, and there was as usual people lined up outside in the heat that I am sure would have loved to have had our table. Another 10 minutes later he brought back another plate of food - steaming hot, smaller portion but no chicken. He said they couldn't take it off our check so we said fine, just wrap it up to go and we would find someone to eat it. A good manager shouldn't be asking if we want to talk to them, if there is a problem they should want to talk to us to resolve any issues. He went off to talk to someone, and when he came back he asked if we wanted to talk to a manager. By that time she really didn't want anything else, and said she didn't notice that there was chicken on it and asked if they could take it off our check - she didn't want to wait for another dish. It was over 15 minutes before he finally did, and I had almost finished eating my dish. My guest noticed there was chicken on her dish, and we waited for our server to come back and check on us. The restaurant started filling up, and it took quite awhile to get our food, and when we did you could tell that it had been sitting for awhile. There didn't seem to be many savory vegetarian offerings on the menu, so she went for it. She is a vegetarian and asked if they could substitute something for the eggs - he said no and the price would be the same. I ordered the Eggs Benedict, and he didn't seem to be familiar with them on the menu. He started out great and was very nice, but after we got our drinks we rarely saw him. Unfortunately, our experience wasn't anything like our friends. We came early today and were seated immediately. Some of our friends rave about it and we have tried to come for brunch before, but the lines were out the door. We had high expectations for brunch at this beautiful restaurant.
